About Lib Ed Program Assessment

Courses approved for the Liberal Education Program categories have common student learning outcomes (SLOs) within each category, and all courses are included in the program's assessment. The assessment practices are consistent with the standards adopted by the UMD campus, which follows a 3-year cycle of data collection, reporting, and improvement (Liberal Education Program Assessment Plan). Faculty who teach Liberal Education courses are expected to follow the standards using the procedures and forms detailed on Liberal Education course assessment webpages.
