Courses approved for the Liberal Education Program categories have common student learning outcomes (SLOs) within each category, and all courses are included in the program's course assessment. The assessment practices are consistent with the standards adopted by the UMD campus, which follows a 3-year cycle of data collection, reporting, and improvement (Liberal Education Program Assessment Plan). Faculty who teach Liberal Education courses are expected to follow these standards using the procedures and forms detailed on Liberal Education course assessment webpages.
The Liberal Education Assessment Faculty Resource guide provides an overview of the Liberal Education Program structure and outlines the navigation of the program's course assessment website.
